E-19 Now, who was He speaking to? Moses. Many of you in your Sunday school lessons has read of this great Bible character, Moses. I like him, because he was a--a shadow of the--of the coming of Christ. He was just a shadow of Christ's coming.

Notice. Now, when the people of Israel had gone down in Egypt, and had come into bondage for four hundred and twenty years, which He had already told Abraham that they would do... When the time of the promise drew nigh, then I want you to notice how... Notice it now. How that when the time of the promise drew nigh, the people began at that time, to see that there was something happened to them, some troubles. And God always cause troubles, mostly always, to bring the people together. Did you know that?

I believe there'll be a time when there won't be any more division amongst the people of God, such as "I belong to this church, and I belong to that church." I believe the persecution will run all the big ransomed Church of God together, and we'll be one in Christ Jesus. And then He will take her home. Now, we won't argue whether this doctrine is right or that.

I'm going to skin him, and rub salt on his hide and tack it up on the door, as a memorial to Divine healing."

You imagine a Christian talking like that? I can't imagine a man borned again talking like that. I will tell you that. That's what it's going to be...?... Mr. Kipperman which is a Orthodox Jew, Mr. Ayers, a Roman Catholic, the two boys that worked in the studio. They come down and Mr. Ayers had said everything about me. A goiter left a woman's throat, standing there before. He said, "He hypnotized her." And oh, my, how he criticized me in the paper the day before.

So I come down that night, there brethren, there was thousands of them gathered, and that's when I realized what friends meant. They come from the east and the west, flew in by special planes, trains, and everything, coming to the rescue. It didn't make any difference then whether you was a church of God, Assembly, or who you was, the truth was at stake.

Brother, one day when the persecution comes, you'll see the great ransomed Church of God stick together like that, stone will go to stone. You'll forget whether your a Methodist, or Baptist, or whoever you are, when the persecution rises, and communism sets down, the Church of God will run together, stone by stone.

That Solomon cutting the temple, one stone was cut this way, and one cut that way, and all this way. But when they went to putting her together, she went placed in together like that, that made the Church of the living God. You're little differences will be all forgotten then.

There when one thing that all the Full Gospel people believed in Divine healing. They flew for as many as five and six hundred miles that day by planes and trains to get in. What was it? The thing that they believed in was at stake. And they're friend who had, that they believed, was standing there to face it. And there it was, they wanted to come see it through. Just take it with you. That's the way to do it. Hallelujah.

E-4 I just have a little testimony before the prayer line. And just at the time that the promise was ready to be fulfilled, the Israelites were faring presumptuously down in Egypt. They were getting along all right. Or the great prestige that Joseph had had before the king by saving Egypt in the seven years of famine, and God had given favor. And... But when there come time for the promise to be fulfilled, there raised up a Pharaoh who knew not Joseph. And they begin a persecution. And it caused in the persecution, that caused that people to go to crowding together and praying. And always persecution strengthens the cause, been through the age: persecution.

I have a great faith to believe that one day before the coming of the Lord, that our little differences will be settled. God may have to let communism sweep us together, but something will take place that'll make us all one heart in one accord.

If we can't have faith now for healing, how are we going to have rapturing faith? Hmm. We've got to have faith for the little things first, before the great things. So there'll be something that'll cause... That's onl--that's in God's providence; I do not know. But I seen a demonstration of it recently, and that's what I want to tell you about.

And just about that time she heard a door slam, and there I was getting out of the car. God works on both ends of the line: Bible over the heart. Them two men, Mr. Wright and Mr. Hall--or Mr. Brace following me, coming up the steps. And the mother fainted. The little girl, I don't know how I ever got in the door, opened the door, walked over to where she was. Brother, I don't care how many demons would be present, whatever would be there, God has done spoken, and nothing can change it. His Words are true, they're for everlasting, from everlasting true.

There laid a little believer lay there in the midst of persecution and everything, still with her little heart centered on God, believing yet. And in prayer, wasn't my prayer; it was her prayer. I walked over to the bed. I said, "Sister Carter, the Lord Jesus in Whom you've trusted all these years has sent His Angel out yonder in the woods and has told me to come down at--and lay my hands upon you that you might be made well." I said, "Therefore, take no thought of how you shall do it, but in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, rise up." How was she going to do it with legs that big, had never moved off the bed in nine years and eight months? And God, Who is my solemn Judge, in five minutes from then was out in the yard, walking around, blessing the trees and blessing the grass, perfectly normal and well.

Now, then they organized the Catholic church, and it started a persecution, that they would... You had to make everyone, everywhere, the church and state united together, and brought in from pagan Rome to papal Rome. In other words, from a pagan superstition they adopted Christianity in their own form. See? They couldn't understand why that man would stand and pray to nothing. They were pagan, so they just took down Venus and put up Mary; they took down Jupiter, put up Peter, some kind of a statue to worship. Now, and they worshipped before that. And they made a universal prayer, said it in Latin so it would never fail, and so forth. They always say the same.

163 Notice, when, King Nebuchadnezzar, in the beginning back yonder, when the Gentile age was issued in, let's watch how it come in. And the way it come in, you'll find out it goes out the same way. We know that there is a beginning of time of grace for the Gentiles, and an ending of time. Is that right?

Now, watch, when King Nebuchadnezzar... When Daniel was sent down there, a smart prophet, when all the rest of the Jews had kind of humbled down and was bowing to the Romans, or to the Babylonians... But there was three, four men; three (Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego), and Daniel, who purposed in their heart they'd serve God. And then when they throwed Shadrach, and so forth, in... And Daniel had become a great man, and before King Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar, and so forth. When he become a great man, now watch, King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold and set it up out in the field, and said that everybody would have to bow to that image.

Did you ever notice the innocence of it, who that image was made of? It was Daniel, the image of a man. And didn't He say, "the spirits of the gods," heathen...? And as they are today, got three or four of them. "The spirits of the gods lived in him," and they made an image to Daniel. And he said, "All that won't make bow to that image, will be throwed in the fiery furnace." You notice, Daniel's off the scene at that time. Get what I mean? "And ever who would not bow to that image should be cut to pieces, or throwed into the lions' den, or burnt in the fiery furnace, or something, a punishment."

That's the way the Gentile dispensation begin, with a pagan form of religious worship, with a persecution to make them bow to it. And the Bible predicts it'll end the same way, "a holy Man," Jesus Christ, an image to Him to worship it, and so forth.

You remember, in the Foxe's "Book of Martyrs," they'd hold a crucifix before them, put an ox on each arm like that, and would say... If you wouldn't renounce, renounce Protestantism, and become a Catholic and "kiss this crucifix." They'd start one ox one way, and one the way, and then pull them apart. They burned them to the stakes. They done everything. I've been to the old catacombs; I know what I'm speaking of. And see, that, that's right. And there they lay. And notice how they went through that days of martyrdom before Martin Luther. According to the Bible, also...

E-27 Here it is: After His going away, He said, "I will not leave you comfortless. I'll give you another Ensign. If I be lifted from the earth, I'll draw all men unto Me. And the things that I do, shall you do, even greater than this, for I go unto My Father." And he commissioned human beings to go to all the world, and preach the Gospel, and demonstrate the power of the Holy Ghost until He returns, as a sign. It's God's provided Sacrifice tonight, is the Person of the Lord Jesus in the Person of the Holy Spirit here tonight, proving Himself to be Jehovah-jireh, the Lord's provided Sacrifice for your healing tonight, the Person of the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ returning in Spirit form.

He said, "I come from the Father; I go to the Father. A little while and the world will see Me no more. Yet you shall see Me, for I'll be with you, even in you to the end of the world."

There He is, God's provided Sacrifice, that can sway the hearts of true believers from one side of the earth to the other side of the earth, where they'll gather in hot buildings, on the street corners, bear persecution, die for the very cause that it was made and was created for them.

E-44 Oh, how I wished I could have just said something. But this man is using his life out for God. He strikes people where would never come to hear me. But here is the reason... I find it in my meeting. Oral Roberts finds them in his meeting. And we'll find them everywhere.

But here's where it's at. They only get emotionally worked up. And they never become converted. They never really become a believer, upon the basis of the Word. They just make a cold, formal confession, and that's about the end of it. And the first little persecution comes along and said, "John, what went with the cigars?"

"Well, I was...?... at the Billy Graham meeting."

"Well, wife, I can't stand it any longer. Get me my John Wilson's." See it? See?

"Lady, what happened to that make-up? I seen you're letting your hair grow out. I heard you was down to one of the Branham campaigns."

"Well, I just can't belong to this club and live in peace. I'll just get my stuff back and smear my face up." Go ahead, there's one woman in the Bible painted her face to meet man, and God fed her to the dogs. That's right. If you want to be dog-meat for God, go ahead.

E-20 And after Constantine, come over and liberated them from under the Roman persecution and united the church and state together... There's where we got Catholic to begin with. And when they did, the church lost more grounds in ten years than it had gained all through the persecution.

If there's anything that makes Christians lazy, it's when they're on a flowered bed of ease. We don't have it persecution enough. We don't have it hard enough. Always at the chain is the strongest at its weakest link.

And a man under pressure is what he is when he's under pressure. His real to--true characteristics will show when he's under pressure. Get him all riled, stirred up, then you'll see the real man come out. If he's got temper, it'll show itself. If he's meek and gentle, it'll show itself. Put him under pressure once. And God puts all His children under tests to see whether there's any flaws in them.

"The world knowed Him not" means the "church (so-called) knew Him not." "He came to His own and His own received Him not. But as many as did receive Him, to them gave He the power to become sons of God, to them that believed on His Name." Oh, how we should love Him and worship Him. The purpose of God, wanting to become in fellowship... Like...

84 And then we see another separation, that was Abraham and Lot. They were brethren. But Lot was a carnal thinker. He was always out for some big thing, something with a lot of tinsel on it. Just like a monkey, as I'd say, always reaching for bright things. That spirit hasn't left people today. They'll reach for the... They go to the city, and they wouldn't come to a little shack like this. See? They want the biggest church there is in the city, the most intellectual pastor, where the best-dressed people goes, where the mayor goes, to the city. It's still that Esau spirit. Really had the birthrights to begin with, called themselves the church, but they lose it because they despise it. You can't get them people to get down on their knees, and cry, and beg out to God, and go out and have healing service, and stand the persecution of the world, receive the Holy Ghost. And they--they won't do that. They despise it. They call it a bunch of holy-rollers. Just what the Bible said they would do. They do it because that's their nature. It's the nature, like the crow and the dove, the two natures. They crave it, because that is what they are. They never--will never see the other, because they're not born to see that.

113 Now, I have to watch here or I'll get it--too much time took up. Let's get to the 2nd verse, or the--that'd be the 8--9th verse. All right, now the persecution, the 9th verse:

I know thy works, thy tribulations,... poverty, (but thou art rich)... (Oh, my.)... I... (Now, He's talking to the church now, the real church, not the others; they hated those deeds of the Nicolaitanes.)

I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but they are the synagogue of Satan.

Now, they were complaining. They were poverty-stricken. The... They had taken all they had. They'd built up their little church like this; and being that they was such a little bitty group, they'd pushed them out, the big church had, just smothered them out. And He said, "I know. I know you have to meet down on the corner; you meet in the alley or anywhere else that you can." (And I've been in the catacombs where they have to meet; go down under the ground and meet and things there.) "I know your tribulations, and I know your troubles, and so forth like that, but you're made rich through those tribulations." Oh, my. Tell me any time that persecution comes upon the church it strengthens it. Always it strengthens the church in tribulations. "I know your tribulations, but you're rich." Why? "You've held onto Me; you're rich. But your tribulations ain't hurting you."

123 Now, the 11th verse is a promise. Now, we'll have this just before closing:

He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

Now, I got to say something here, that in order... If I think in my heart and don't say it, then I'm a hypocrite. See? I want you to notice something here in this Scripture. And I think it was one of the biggest puzzles to me for so long until I found out. Now, let's read that real close now. See?

He that has an ear,... (in other words, "has a ear to hear"; see, that's open to the Spirit)... let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches;... (Now, see, this same thing, this persecution and everything comes. Every part of it laps over in every church, the churches.)... Spirit says to the churches; He that overcometh... (In what church? Ephesian? Yeah. All right. Smyrna? Yeah, all of them)... He that overcomes... (in all the churches)... shall not be hurt of the second death.

He in the Laodicean church that overcomes what? Overcomes the Nicolaitanes, overcomes the things of the world, overcomes these denominations, overcomes these priesthoods, overcomes everything of the world, and sells out, and loves Christ, he'll not be hurt of the second death. Why? He's got Eternal Life. Eternal Life can't die. Jesus said, "He that heareth Me has Eternal Life, shall never die. I'll raise him up in the last day."
