E-13 Just for a little text, if I should call it that, I want to speak for a moment or two on the word of "Expectation."

We always get what we expect. When people expect anything, well then they usually get what you look for. It's the mental attitude that you have.

Remember this, and never forget it. The right mental attitude towards any promise of God will bring it to pass, the right mental attitude towards any promise of God.

It doesn't take gifts of healing to heal sick people, any person in here has a right to meet Satan anywhere, if you're a Christian, and defeat him on any grounds that he could stand on.

When Jesus Christ was here on earth, and in Him dwelled the fullness of the Godhead bodily, all the great powers of God was in His Son, Christ Jesus. For the Scripture tells us that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. All things was delivered unto Him, though He spoke nothing but what the Father told Him. He healed no one but what He first saw being healed. For He said, "Verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing in Himself, but what He sees the Father doing." That was Saint John 5:19.

E-15 And now, I think while I'm speaking tonight, I want to try to first start this meeting in a new way, not just run in like I usually do and take three or four nights to... 'fore the people realize what's happening. If you build their faith, I believe, firm first, upon what is the foundation, God's Word, I believe there'll be a better results right here in Minneapolis in this revival than we've had yet.

I tried it in Europe, and it worked wonderfully. When many times... When my last night was speaking, many many hundreds of the people, while speaking through an interpreter, received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. I forget how many hundred at one time, of young people, just when they seen. Faith comes by hearing, hearing the Word. E-16 When Jesus... We all believe He was the Son of God. Is that right? We accept Him as the Son of God. And He was more than a man; God was in Jesus. God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. He was a God-man, God working through Him.

Now, but when He met Satan, or Satan met Him, He did not use any of His fine gifts, which I believe that in Him dwelt all the powers of heavens was in Him. But He never used any of them to defeat the enemy. When He met Satan, Satan tempted Him. He said, "It is written: Man shall not live by bread alone."

Then upon the pinnacle of the Temple, He met him again with the Word of God. When he taken Him up in the mountain, He met him again with the Word of God, so showing to us, as our example, that the Word of God will defeat the enemy any place, anywhere, any time. It is written.

E-16 Now, notice. Here it is! I want you to see it and get it now. The Word of God, written Word of God will defeat Satan anywhere, any place, any time. It's written. There it is.

Everybody wouldn't have gifts. Jesus brought it down to a place where those who do not have gifts, that do not have very much faith, could just say, "It is written." There it is; and then just stand right on that.

Corn will bring forth corn. Is that right? Barley will bring forth barley. Wheat will bring forth wheat. Jesus said that the Word of God is a Seed that a sower sowed. And every Word will... Every Word of God, every promise of God will bring forth of its kind. Do you believe that? See?

E-14 Let him that's weak say, "I am strong." See? Just say in you heart that "I am now strong. I have now accepted Jesus as my Healer," and never have any negative testimony any more, just believe it, God is under obligation, or Jesus Christ is--sitting at the right hand of the Father to accept you; for He's setting there the High Priest of your confession to make good before the Father anything that He died for, that you're confessing that He done. There you are.

Now, Divine healing cannot be any plainer than that. It's to the weakest. You do it... Any... Remember, God's Word will defeat Satan anywhere, anyplace, anytime, and any condition.

E-42 Now, and listen; just a moment. The Word of God will defeat the devil any place, anywhere, any time on any condition. When Jesus was here on earth, the Father was in Him. God was in Christ reconcile the world to Himself. We believe that. All the fine qualities was in--was of the Father was in Him. But when He met Satan, look how He did. He brought it in your reach, and yours, yours, and all of you. See? He never used His great gift.

When Satan comes in and said, "If thou be the Son of God, turn these stones to bread," He said, "It is written: man shall not live by bread alone." He taken Him up on the pinnacle of the temple. Jesus said, "It is written." He took Him up on a high mountain, showed Him the kingdoms of the world, said, "I'll give them all to you, if you'll fall down and worship me." Jesus said, "It is written." See? Always, "It's written," the Word.

The Word of God is a Seed. Accept It in your heart: believe It; water It; testify of It; take It as your own personal need and God will bring it to pass.

E-10 I met him here not long ago in New York, when he was standing on in Cuba there, and different places. The man had twenty or thirty thousand people in the congregation, said, "Are you tired, Brother Osborn?"

He said, "I've never laid my hand on a person." Said, "What have I got to be tired about? I just preach thirty minutes and go home."

I said, "How do you do it?"

He said, "Brother, I stand out there, and I take the Word of God," said, "now, don't come talk about any gifts and things, like this. The gift that I have is explaining the Word of God." He said, "And the Word of God will defeat Satan."

And that's the truth. It'll defeat Satan anywhere, any place, any time. And he begins to explain and tell, and just move in that Word like that, till Satan is so well built in, he can't move. The audience sees it.

Said, "How many of you believe It now and want to accept It." They raise their hands like that. Said, "Come up here and testify." And Brother Osborn gets in a chair and sets down and listens for about two or three hours, them testify. Say, "Hallelujah," and go on home, come back the next night and explain It again. Get more done of the Lord. The man is right, absolutely, a hundred percent right. And he is. No fundamentalist or nobody else to put a finger on it, 'cause there it is in the Word of the Lord.

If It'll do that to a dead baby, what ought It to do to a borned again Church? I don't understand. Oh, my. He said, "If they hold their peace, the rocks will immediately cry out." That's taking God at His promise.

"How do you know you're going to have it?"

"God said so."

And when the nine months rolled around, the baby was born, 'cause God said so. "Whatsoever things you desire, when you pray believe you receive it." God said so.

The Word of God will defeat Satan anywhere, anytime, anyplace. Do you believe it?

E-28 As I was speaking this afternoon of the Deity of Jesus Christ, the Father in Him, all God was--give His gifts into His Son that it might be manifested in the earth. When He met Satan, He never used one of them. He brought it down to show that the weakest of Christians...

Satan comes in and says, "If..." That question mark's always across the Word. "If Thou be the Son of God, command these stones to be turned into bread," when He was hungry.

Jesus said... never said, "Now, here. I am the Son of God. I rebuke you." He never said it. Jesus said, "It is written (the Father's Word), 'Man shall not live by bread alone.'"

Taken Him up on the pinnacle of the temple, Jesus said, "It is written." Taken Him up on the mountain, Jesus said, "It is written." Is that right? So Jesus showed you that Satan could be defeated by the Word of God. The Word of God will defeat Satan tonight if there never was a gift to the church. See what I mean? How many believe that's the truth? God's Word.

"Believe now you receive it; it shall be given unto you." Is that right? You shall have whatever you've asked for if you believe it. And now, He... If Jesus paid for it there, why, I believe it, I accept it, and believe it, and go testifying. God has brought the...

How many believe that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself; that all the great powers that the Father had was given... [Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.] all the powers of the Father? But when He met Satan, watch where He brought it to: for the weakest Christian here tonight, He never used any of His divine gifts. When Satan come to Him and said, "If Thou be the Son of God, command these stones to be made bread," Jesus said, "It is written,": the Word of God. "It is written, man shall not live by bread alone."

Again He was tested. And Jesus said, "It is written." The third time He was tested, and Jesus said, "It is written." Is that right? Right to the Word of God, showing that the weakest Christian can defeat Satan by, "It is written." If you'll believe the Word of God teaches it, believe it, accept it, hang on to it; God will bring it to pass. Don't you believe that? It is written.

E-11 Now, remember this, that I make this quotation, that "The Word of God will defeat Satan anywhere, anytime, any place, on any condition." The Word of God alone, "It is written," will defeat Satan, no matter who he is, what form he comes in, where he's at, it'll defeat Satan. Now that is truth: the written Word of God.

Now, and you're... And now, here's another statement I want you to remember. And you that--you especially here that's so sick setting here, these cancer cases and so forth tonight, look, that "The right mental attitude towards any divine promise of God will bring it to pass." Can you understand what I mean? "The right mental attitude towards any divine promise of God will bring it to pass." If you'll take the right mental attitude towards anything God has promised, God's under obligation to see that you get it. That's right, because He promised it.

E-34 Lay your hands on the baby. Some Christian believer, come, lay your hands on the young man setting there that's crippled, will you? All right. Now, let's everyone bow our heads reverently, real reverent. I want you to think this in your mind now, real reverent. I want you to repeat this prayer. You pray it. I'll repeat it; you pray it; I'll just transfer the words that it takes to defeat Satan, right to your lips. And then you believe your confession. Now, you that's sick repeat this with me.

Almighty God, Creator of heavens and earth, Author of Everlasting Life, Giver of all good gifts, I, Your servant confess my sins. And I believe that through the merits of Thy Son Jesus, I am forgiven of my sins. I am sick in body. I need Your help. Give me faith just now to believe Your Word and to believe these things which I have seen tonight that reproduces Your life again: as it was yesterday, and so is it today. And now, Lord, upon this confession I accept my healing, and I believe from this night, henceforth, I shall be well. I commit myself to You in the Name of Jesus Christ.

E-8 And now, God's Word will defeat Satan anywhere, any place, any time. Now, when Jesus was here on earth, I--I believe He was, well, He was Emmanuel. God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. So all the great qualities of the Father was in Christ Jesus the Son when He was here on earth. All the Father has was His. And all the fine gifts that's in God, and all that was, was in Christ. But when He met Satan, He never used any of those gifts. He, just to be your example, He brought it to where the very weakest of Christians... He said... Now, He--He had the power right then to rebuke Satan and send Him away. But what He did, He never referred to any of His power.

Satan said, "If thou be the son of God..." There's always a question mark across God's Word by Satan. So he said, "If thou be the son of God, command these stones to be made bread."

Now, Jesus said, "It is written, in the Father's Word, man shall not live by bread alone."

He taken Him up on top of the--the temple and said--told Him to cast Hisself down. Jesus said, "It is written..." right back to the Scripture.

Then He taken Him up on a mountain, showed all the kingdoms of the world, and said, "I'll give to you if you'll bow down and worship me."

Jesus said, "It is written..." See, constantly, "It is written; it is written."

E-10 Listen close. You'll never live above your confession. Jesus is the High Priest of our confession (Is that right? Now, Hebrews 3:1, now any scholar knows that same word "profession" is "confession" too, same translated.), now setting at the right hand of the Father to make intercessions upon what? Our confession. He can't do nothing for you until first you confess He's done it. See?

When you accepted... Now, I wasn't saved... I'm not saved tonight because I get happy and shout. That isn't it. I'm not saved because the gift of God works through me. I'm saved because I have met the conditions that Jesus Christ required from me. I'm saved according to the Bible. See? Is that right? See? On... And not because I feel like I'm saved. Satan can whip you around a stump on your feelings, but he can't when it's THUS SAITH THE LORD. See? He can't do--go that. He can't wade across that; that'll defeat him.

E-11 And then in Saint John the 5th chapter, and beginning about the 19th verse:

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I said unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth: and he will show you greater works than these, that you may marvel.'

And now, in Hebrews 13:8 said:

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

May God add His blessings to His Word. I would just like tonight, being that our theme and subject and our heart, and all that we have, and live for is Jesus Christ... I would like to speak a little about Him, of His character, and what He was. The Scriptures...

Someone said, recently, "Rev. Branham, why do you teach Divine healing?" I teach Divine healing because I believe Divine healing. I believe it's in the Word of God. And I--I believe I can sanely and sensibly prove it by the Scripture. And you'd be surprised at the attacks I've had through the years, of everything from witchcraft, Buddhism, throughout the world of all kinds of religions, and cults, and devils, and everything. But friends, by God's help, I've never seen one ever come yet, but what fell in defeat, right there where, while it was going on, because the Word of God will prevail every time.

The reason I want you to read the book, some of the instance, and with their... Every one of them is bona fide, everything is bona fide. You can check it right back.

I've never been scared yet, for as long as I know that God commissioned and sent me to go pray for the sick, it's God's obligation to take care of me while I'm out there praying for the sick. And He will do it.

Now, I--I never did claim, and to be any Divine healer. Now, I am--I am not that, friends. There's no Divine healers. Not even Jesus Christ claimed to be a Divine healer. He said, "It's My Father that dwelleth in Me, He doeth the works. I do nothing. It's Him."

So a man that would claim to be a Divine healer, would just only be, well, he'd just be deceiving. And anything that that man could do, to say that, well, that he could do anything to help you, otherwise, and point you to Christ, the man would be dishonest. There's...

E-27 "Oh," you say, "yeah, but I know. But here it is." Oh, sure, the snakes are there too. Your name is penned unto it. He might've marked you for a death with a cancer, with anything else. But refuse to see it. No, sir. "By His stripes I'm healed."

"Testify" means "say the same thing." If I testify in court, something another, I got the say the thing that I seen. And "testify" means "say the same thing God said." And I've got to say what He said. He said, "By His stripes I'm healed." And I believe it. Amen. Then I will tell you. Listen to this children. The Word of God will--will defeat Satan anywhere, any place, on any conditions, anytime.

When Jesus was here He was God. God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, but He never used any of His gifts. When He met Satan, He brought the Kingdom of God so low, till the weakest of Christian can use it. When Satan come to Him and said, "If Thou be the Son of God, command these stones..."

He said, "It is written." The Word. He took Him up, tried to whitewash the Word for Him. And Jesus said, "And it is also written."

He took Him up to the top of the mountain, said, he had to look all these kingdoms, "I will give them to you if You'll worship me."

He said, "It is written." There it is.

E-28 And it is written, "Whatsoever things you desire when you pray, believe you receive it; you shall have it." Then defeat Satan with the Word of God. Just say, "It's written. God promised me. I go to church and the pastor anointed me with oil, prayed for me, and I was prayed for. That's exactly what God said would happen. And it's written." Just go right on refuse to have it. God will bring it to pass.

Now, in the days, a moment before the reading or closing here, a little service... Then we're going to have the prayer. Look in the days now when Simeon just before the coming of the Lord, it was just about like a day like this: cold, indifferent.

We're talking about America has got a great revival. I don't know where it's at. I've never seen it yet.
