CHRIST AND SATAN
WARRING
I just
bought a Commentary on the Book of Hebrews by A. W. Pink, and so far I like it,
and it is over 1300
pages long for about 19 bucks.
I found one small thought I liked about David and Golieth,
and I want to comment on that.
Notice the name of Golieth. go-lieth...Go lying
continually as the type shows that.
This is a type of Christ as David, and Satan as Golieth.I
spell Golieth like it sounds.
While for 40 days between two Mountains Golieth was making his boast,
between Mt.Sinai and Mt. Zion.
From Adam to Christ was 40 Centuries Satan was tempting, and bragging and
boasting against the
Sanits of the Most High, then David came (Jesus), and at Calvary Bruised
the head of the Serpent.
While Golieth was doing his bragging, David as tending His
Father's Sheep. Wonderful type.
When David went to Visit His Brothers was because His
Father sent him to carry some bread to the Sons
of the Father, and the Brothers of David. Just great in type. David's Brothers
made fun of him, as Israel
mocked Christ and made fun of Him, as He came to His own, and they received
Him not, but the ones
that received Him as their Messiah, was the ones to receive Power to be a
Son or Daughter of God.
Remember when David came into the Army of Israel, they were all afraid of
the Giant, and when the Giant was killed, the Army of Israel chased them and
killed them left and right.
When Calvary just happened, the 120 was in the upper room with the doors
and windows shut, for they were afraid of the religious groups, but when David
came in Spirit, Jesus, the Holy Ghost, they went out in the street and was
not afraid of anything, as they healed the sick, cast out devils, and raised
the dead. The Serpent's head had been bruised and they were enjoying the Victory
Jesus gave to them.
Now David did not kill Golieth with the stone, as he
knocked him out, or Bruised His Head, and then he took
his own sword and cut his head off. Think of the Prophecy in Genesis
3;15 of the Seed of the woman to bruise the head of the Serpent, and here it
is in type so beautiful. There are many who could have done better with this
article, but I thank God for the little He has let me partake.
Something to think about.
Victory for the Saints is certain, so press the Battle on
the front lines for our Master and
Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Sincerely, Nathan Miller.
